COVID-19 National: Individuals – Coronavirus Supplement
OverviewThis program aims to provide additional financial support to individuals who are affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19). It forms part of the Australian Government's Coronavirus Economic Stimulus Package which aims to keep Australians in jobs, keep businesses in business and support households and the Australian economy as the world deals with the significant challenges posed by the spread of the coronavirus.
The Coronavirus Supplement is a fortnightly payment on top of an individual's eligible income support payment.
The temporary Coronavirus Supplement is available at a rate of:
- $250 per fortnight until 31 December 2020.
- $150 per fortnight between 1 January and 31 March 2021.
This means as long as an individual is eligible, they'll get $250 with their regular payment when they report on or before 13 January 2021. For all reporting dates on or after 14 January 2021, they'll get $150 per fortnight with their regular payment. They'll continue to get $150 per fortnight until 31 March 2021 as long as they're eligible.
It will be automatically added to an individual's income support payment if eligible.
Eligible applicants include those individuals receiving the following payments:
- JobSeeker Payment
- Partner Allowance
- Widow Allowance
- Youth Allowance
- Austudy
- ABSTUDY Living Allowance
- Parenting Payment
- Farm Household Allowance
- Special Benefit
